International Women's Day: Small Efforts Make a World of Difference

Today is International Women’s Day. Women (and men alike) across the world are generating a powerful push to make equality a reality. While there is much work to be done, women all over the world are making positive gains each day. Today is also a day to celebrate the women whose contributions have changed the world. There are women who have won Nobel prizes for promoting peace and social justice, making scientific discoveries, curing disease, and advocating for girl’s rights and education.

However, it is not necessary to make grand contributions to change the world. We already change the world every day just by being ourselves. Each one of us has the ability to make a positive change with small efforts. A smile, a positive word, a hug for our children, a kind word, a spontaneous act of kindness, singularly and collectively make a world of difference.
